Big Bear Mountain Resorts received 1-1/2 to 2 inches of new snow on Saturday. A dusting of new snow fell on the upper half of the mountain overnight with intermittent light rain showers on the lower half of the mountain. Light scattered showers are expected to continue through the morning with clearing by afternoon. Sundays are always a great day to come up to the resorts with extended day session hours, wide open runs and shorter lift lines. All runs are open at both resorts with excellent coverage on a 4 to 6 foot base. Today’s snow surface ranges from a machine groomed packed powder on top to a wet soft pack on the lower half of the mountain.

All roads leading into the Big Bear Valley are open and clear at this time. Chains are required on Hwy 38 from Redlands on all vehicles except 4-wheel drives with snow tires. Remember to always carry chains in your vehicle when traveling in the mountains and contact CalTrans at 1-800-427-ROAD for the latest on road conditions before heading to the resorts.

Big Bear Mountain Resorts received 1-1/2 to 2 inches of new snow on Saturday. A dusting of new snow fell on the upper half of the mountain overnight with intermittent light rain showers on the lower half of the mountain. Light scattered showers are expected to continue through the morning with clearing by afternoon. Sundays are always a great day to come up to the resorts with extended day session hours, wide open runs and shorter lift lines. All runs are open at both resorts with excellent coverage on a 4 to 6 foot base. Today’s snow surface ranges from a machine groomed packed powder on top to a wet soft pack on the lower half of the mountain.
