The resorts received an inch of new snow overnight!
The season is winding down but there is still time to take advantage of the best spring skiing and snowboarding in years! Bear Mountain & Snow Summit will be open through Sunday April 17, 2005 with limited operations and then it will be day to day based on demand. If you keep coming, one or both of the resorts will remain open. Nearly all runs are open at both Bear Mountain and Snow Summit providing over 50 trails for all levels of skiers and snowboarders. Coverage is excellent on a 1 1/2 to 4 foot base with a snow surface that is machine groomed hard pack that may soften depending on today’s temperatures.

Chains are required on all vehicles except for those with 4-WD and snow tires on Hwy 330/18 through Running Springs and on Hwy 38 through Redlands. Remember to always carry chains in your vehicle when traveling in the mountains and have them readily accessible to checkpoint officers. Contact CalTrans at 1-800-427-ROAD for the latest on road conditions before heading to the resorts.
