SNOW FOR THE HOLIDAYS!!!!!
It's beginning to look like we are going to have a white Christmas in Big Bear. Snow is in the forecast for the Big Bear area beginning Christmas Day and throughout the weekend thereafter. If you have not done so already, you might want to book your vacation now! Lodges report that there are still vacancies to be had and the minimum nights, that are customary over the holidays have been lowered to 2 nights. So start packing and head for the mountains!

SUMMIT & BEAR ARE LOOKING VERY GOOD FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Big Bear Lake, Calif., Wednesday 17, 2003 – On Wednesday December 17, 2003 Santa Claus was spotted at Big Bear Mountain Resorts (BBMR). He was seen skiing at Snow Summit Mountain Resort (Snow Summit) and snowboarding at Bear Mountain Resort (Bear Mountain). It is believed that Santa is taking advantage of the great early season conditions and using his interchangeable ticket to access both resorts enjoying some great groomed runs at Snow Summit before heading over to “The Park” at Bear Mountain to get his jib on.

Great snowmaking weather and a vast dependable water supply (Big Bear Lake) have allowed BBMR to use two of the largest snowmaking systems in the world to lay down a thick layer of beautiful white snow and open a majority of both resorts. With continued snowmaking over the next few days, both resorts are looking very good for the holidays. Below is a detailed description of what is currently open and what is expected to open soon at both resorts. Now that Snow Summit and Bear Mountain are operated together, skiers and snowboarders can enjoy twice as many lifts, runs, terrain parks, beginner facilities, shops, eateries and bars all with one lift ticket. An express shuttle service operates every 15-minutes between the resorts providing skiers and riders the ability to go back and forth between the resorts. read more
