Big Bear received up to an inch of fluffy new snow over our 16 to 28 inch base and conditions are excellent! We have been making snow continuously for more than two days and nearly the entire resort is open with 25 of 26 lifts available. The Wall and Upper Olympic are now open at Snow Summit for advanced skiers and snowboarders. All 3 routes into Big Bear are open, please view road conditions for further information.

3 Ways to Big Bear - Highway 330/18 from San Bernardino through Running Springs ("Front Way") is the shortest and most direct route. Highway 38 from Redlands ("Back Way") is the best route when leaving the Valley on weekends and holidays. Highway 18 from Lucerne Valley ("Desert Way") is best in snowy weather.

Hwy. 330 / 18 (Running Springs): Open with chains required on all vehicles except four-wheel drives with snow tires. Always carry chains when driving in the mountains during winter months.
Hwy. 38 (Redlands): Open with chains required on all vehicles except four-wheel drives with snow tires. Always carry chains when driving in the mountains during winter months.
Hwy. 18 (Lucerne Valley): Open and clear with no restrictions. Always carry chains when driving in the mountains during winter months.
