Oh Yeah! It's looking all wintery again. Last night's 2 to 3 inches of fresh snow has made for excellent packed powder runs. There's a break between storms today offering up mostly sunny skies then old man winter returns Friday night and Saturday, so head up to Bear by Friday afternoon for the 3-day weekend to avoid the snowy roads and get first tracks Saturday morn. There are three open roads into Big Bear. ALL chain requirements have been lifted so what are you waiting for?! Now's the time to hit the road and be here early for a wintery, powdery weekend! Hwy 38 through Redlands, Hwy 18 the back way through Lucerne Valley and Hwy 18 from Waterman through Lake Arrowhead are open with NO chains required. With several more inches of snow forecast for Friday night and Saturday it may take a little extra time to get here, but the conditions will be well worth the drive. All vehicles including four-wheel and all wheel drives with snow tires must always carry chains when traveling to the mountains during winter months. Please check back for up to the minute road information.
