~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Big Bear Mountain Resorts Snow Report
March 9, 2006
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The resorts received 2 inches of fresh light snow Tuesday night, and there's more snow in the forecast! Come up and enjoy great skiing and riding with machine-groomed packed powder conditions! Nearly all runs are open at Snow Summit and Bear Mountain with excellent coverage and a a two- to five-foot base for great skiing and riding well into April. One lift ticket at Big Bear Mountain Resorts gives you access to two distinct resorts with 24 out of 26 lifts operating as needed and a free shuttle running between the resorts every half-hour.
The front road, HWY 330 from San Bernardino, will reopen Thursday March 9th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The route will then be open from Friday March 10th at 3:00 p.m. through Monday at 7:00 a.m. on March 20th. You may use alternate routes HWY 38 from Redlands or HWY 18 from the Lucerne Valley to get to Big Bear. HWY 38 from Redlands is open and clear with no restrictions. HWY 18, from the Lucerne Valley, offers the least amount of mountain driving to get to our resorts, but will have one-way controlled traffic at various locations for maintenance from 0830 to 1530 Monday thru Friday. Always carry chains in your vehicle when driving in the mountains during winter months and have them readily accessible to checkpoint officers.
